Rev. Bryant is the son of Delores Bryant and the late David Bryant, Sr.; he has one brother, Jerome. He has two children David III, a graduate of Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee and a daughter Annika Meling, also a graduate of Lane College. In addition to the pastoral ministry, in July 1998, Bishop Isom appointed Rev. Bryant to the Presiding Eldership of the Kansas Missouri Conference of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, presiding over C.M.E. Churches in the states of Colorado, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, and Iowa.

In July 2002 Bishop Stewart appointed Rev. Bryant to the Presiding Eldership of the Missouri District, presiding over C.M.E. churches in the states of Missouri, Nebraska, and Iowa, and assigned him as Pastor of Jamison Memorial Temple Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Kansas City, Missouri. In August 2006 Bishop Stewart assigned Rev. Bryant to the Walls Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church on the west side of Chicago. Under Pastor Bryant’s leadership, Hope Haven Christian Academy was initiated in partnership with the state of Illinois and the Chicago Public Schools. In August 2009, Bishop Stewart assigned Rev. Bryant to the Allen Metropolitan Christian Methodist Episcopal Church on the Southside of Chicago. On December 17, 2010, Rev. Bryant was awarded the Doctor of Ministry Degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton Ohio. Allen Metropolitan Church, known now as “The Land that Floweth with Milk & Honey Church,” is experiencing tremendous growth spiritually and numerically. The Church is presently engaged in partnerships with the City, County, and State designed specifically to address issues of food insecurity, quality education, utility assistance, housing, and incarceration. The Feeding the Multitude Ministry is in partnership with The Greater Chicago Food Depository providing over (15,000) fifteen thousand hot meals to group homes, senior citizens buildings, elderly and shut-in since October 2018. The Safe Haven After School Program is in partnership with the Chicago Public Schools providing tutorial support to students and families assisting them with navigating successfully through the urban educational system.

Our Low Income Housing and Energy Assistance Program  is in partnership with (CEDA) Community Economic Development Association providing utility assistance with gas, light, and water to residents in Cook County and the State of Illinois. Our Releasing the Captives Ministry is in partnership with The Cook County Correctional Center providing a monthly worship service to the inmates and highlights issues about policy and legislation related to mass incarceration. Our Urban Summer Camp partnership with the State of Illinois is designed to provide a safe space for high-risk children living in the inner city during the summer months which are filled with violence. The Roseland Neighborhood Community Organization works closely with the New Roseland Hospital administrators serving as a liaison between the hospital and the community which has proved to be invaluable during Covid -19. The church has been engaged in the mission of improving the quality of life in this community for (48) forty-eight years and our Roseland Community Neighborhood Organization has been empowering the community since 2010. On July 17, 2017, Rev. Bryant and twenty (20) members of Allen Metropolitan Church journeyed to the Holy Land, “Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus,” for spiritual renewal and restoration. Rev. Bryant serves as a Spiritual Director for Global Catholic Tours, providing leadership for pilgrimages to the Holy Land. Rev. Bryant has a holistic, fresh, innovative approach to ministry, integrating vision and creativity to address the problems that plague Urban American. He is compassionate about the needs of the poor, disenfranchised, the marginalized, and the oppressed. Pastor Bryant is committed to the restoration of communities by working collaboratively to bring healing, justice, and equality to all people.
