The Feeding the Multitude Ministry of Allen Metropolitan Church has been in partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository since October 2018. The ministry provides free hot nutritious meals to the community every Wednesday from 5:00pm-7:00pm. We have provided 25,611 meals.
The Releasing the Captives Ministry was birthed in 2010 in response to the escalating prison incarceration. The United States houses over 25% of the world’s prison population. Although African Americans represent only 13% percent of the country’s population, they sadly represent over 50% of the prison population. The problem is systemic. The lack of quality education for minorities, unjust laws, and privatization of the judicial system continues to promote the cradle to prison pipeline.
The Casting the Net Ministry is in partnership with the (CEDA) Community Economic Development Association of Cook County. The ministry is called “LIHEAP” (Low -Income Home Energy Assistance Program) which provides assistance to residents in Chicago, Cook County and the State of Illinois.
The Center for Academic and Cultural Enrichment (CACE) was birthed in 2010 in response to the cities high dropout rate and the increased prison incarceration. CACE is designed to decrease the prison population by focusing primarily on literacy.
The Roseland Neighborhood Community Organization was founded in 2010 in response to the violence in the community. Reverend Bryant was assigned to Allen Metropolitan C.M.E. church in August 2009 and upon his relocation to the city, a woman was murdered on the block adjacent to the church and the parsonage.
